D. Moné Handbags was created in 2015 by Deja, a beginner sewist who wanted to share her creations with others. Before handbags, Deja created wedding items such as sashes, unity and memorial candles but that no longer excited her. She wanted to create something from the heart.  She remembered a project from her sixth grade home economic class where she hand sewn a pillow. Deja didn't want to create pillows but she knew she wanted to explore sewing. She brought herself a sewing machine and found a tutorial for creating a foldover clutch using a sewing a machine and the rest is history. She continued to hone her skills while seeking to challenge herself with different handbag designs. Recently Deja has expanded D. Moné Handbags by introducing patterns for fabrics, wallpapers and other surfaces as well as wholesale for handbags and accessories.
